Hot honey barbecue ribs! This spare ribs recipe is tossed with a simple spice blend, baked in the oven and then brushed with homemade hot honey barbecue sauce.
Pork spareribs, neutral oil, light brown sugar, smoked paprika, kosher salt, black pepper, mustard powder, onion powder, ketchup, hot sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce
Preparing the spice rub. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. In a small bowl, mix together the light brown sugar, smoked paprika, kosher salt, black pepper, mustard powder, and onion powder to create the spice rub.
Seasoning the ribs. Place the cleaned pork spareribs on a large sheet of aluminum foil. Drizzle a little neutral oil over the ribs (both sides), ensuring they are lightly coated.
Baking the ribs. Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and transfer them to the preheated oven to make your oven-baked ribs. Bake the ribs for 2 to 2.5 hours. Go for 2 hours if you want them less tender (don't worry, still very tender), and 2.5 hours if you want them more fall off the bone tender!
Serve! Once the ribs are done grilling, transfer them to a cutting board to rest for 7-10 minutes. Then slice each rib with a knife and serve with more barbecue sauce and pickles on the side!
