The most amazing sticky coffee chicken wings with a creamy chive dip!
Coffee grounds, garlic or onion powder, paprika, chili powder of cayenne pepper, brown sugar
Party wings, flour and your coffee rub
Creme fraiche, mayo, dash of vinegar, chives
To begin, make your rub. In a bowl, mix coffee grounds, salt, pepper, garlic/onion powder, paprika, chili powder and brown sugar. Set aside.
Place your wings in a bowl and toss then with flour and your rub (about 1-2 tablespoons of it). Optional to add a drizzle of olive oil here, but not completely necessary.
You can either cook them right then, or cover tightly with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for 3 hours-overnight to dry brine, which helps dry out the wings to get them crispy.
Place either in a 400 degree oven on a wire rack, or in the air fryer at 400 degrees for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway.
In a skillet, melt your butter on medium-low heat. Add in your rub (about 1-2 tablespoons) mixture to combine. Off heat, add in lemon juice and/or a splash of vinegar.
After that, make your dip. In a small bowl, mix creme fraiche, mayo, chives, vinegar, salt and pepper.
When your wings are ready, toss them with your sticky coffee sauce to coat. Top with chopped chives and your dip, serve!
