Honey ginger glazed salmon! This honey glazed salmon is a blend of sweet, savory and slightly spicy and is a wonderful and quick dinner. This honey garlic and ginger mixture is just so beautiful and flavorful! I love how easy this is to put together, served alongside some fluffy rice and scallions.
Serve this recipe with your choice of side dishes, such as steamed vegetables, quinoa, brown rice, cauliflower rice, or jasmine rice. The flavorful combination of honey, ginger, and sesame is just everything paired with salmon.
What ingredients do you need for this one pan honey glazed salmon?
Salmon: For the protein of this recipe, we are using salmon filets. We are slow roasting the salmon in a pan in the oven, but you can also cook this in a skillet on the stovetop, too.
For the marinade: I love this marinade because it exudes all the flavors I need, salty, sweet, spicy. The glaze is spooned over throughout the cooking process, so good! You’ll need:
- honey
- extra-virgin olive oil
- tamari (or soy sauce)
- sesame oil
- vinegar
- mirin
- fresh garlic and ginger
- sambal oelek red pepper flakes could work here as well
- sesame seeds
- black pepper
*Salt is not really needed for this recipe since we have salt coming through from the tamari!
*We are spooning over the sauce over the salmon, too but you can also serve with lime juice or lemon juice squeeze.
Instructions to make the best salmon recipe
Prepare the Ginger Glaze Marinade
Preheat your oven to 375 °F
In a small bowl to medium-sized bowl, combine the honey, extra-virgin olive oil, tamari, sesame oil, rice vinegar, mirin, grated garlic, grated ginger, black pepper and Sambal Oelek. Whisk all the ingredients together until the marinade is combined.
Marinate the Salmon
Place the salmon fillets skin side down in a shallow baking dish and pour over the glaze (you can also add this on a baking sheet in a baking dish, too). *It may seem like a lot of liquid, but that’s okay! We will be spooning over throughout the cooking in the oven to glaze entirely and to keep some sauce to spoon over when serving.
Bake the Salmon
Slow roast your ginger salmon for about 20 minutes, spooning over the glaze halfway through at the 10 minute mark. Spoon over your glaze once again over the top of the salmon and bake for another 5-10 minutes at either 400 °F or turning on broil for the last 5 minutes until the salmon reaches your desired doneness.
Garnish and Serve
Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the oven and transfer it to a serving platter with fluffy white rice, scallions/green onions and sprinkle of sesame seeds.
