What Are Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Bundles?
Instead of merely wrapping bacon around an individual piece of asparagus, we put a bunch of them together, wrapped them up with bacon, and sprinkled them with parmesan cheese. Then, they’re baked until the bacon and asparagus are perfectly crispy. Drizzling them with balsamic vinegar and lemon zest is the perfect finishing touch. These two ingredients smooth the woodsy asparagus flavors and make the bundles taste bright and slightly sweet.
What ingredients do you need for bacon-wrapped asparagus?
Bacon: Use your favorite type of bacon – we used hickory-smoked bacon. Thick-cut bacon will take a bit longer to bake, so just keep in mind when you’re cooking.
Asparagus: Fresh asparagus spears roast perfectly in the oven. We used about 20 of them and removed the woody ends before adding the bacon.
Kosher Salt and Black Pepper: To bring out the flavors in everything, use kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper. You can also add your favorite spices to the asparagus, too.
Parmesan Cheese: Grate fresh parmesan cheese at home for this!
Balsamic Vinegar: Any variety of balsamic vinegar, such as dark or white balsamic, will taste incredible drizzled on top of the asparagus bundles.
Lemon: Fresh lemon juice and zest bring out the natural sweetness in the balsamic vinegar and asparagus.

Tips, Tricks and Substitutions
Store the bacon asparagus bundles in an airtight container. Keep them in the refrigerator for up to two days. Then, reheat them in the air fryer or oven.
You can cook the asparagus and bacon on the stove instead of the oven. Place the bundles in a skillet over medium heat. Let them cook, turning every five minutes, until the bacon is completely cooked.
Some people love to make the bundles with candied bacon. To do this, either sprinkle the bacon with some brown sugar or drizzle it with a bit of maple syrup. A little bit goes a long way.
Yes, you can! Air fryer bacon-wrapped asparagus is easy cleanup and easy to make. Place them in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook them at 400F for about 20 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking.
