This green onion garlic parmesan wings recipe is one of my favorite quick recipes! It’s perfect for dinner paired with a salad, or appetizer for game day. The flavor from the zingy and delicious parmesan garlic sauce is SO good with the crispy wings.

I absolutely love a good wing and these can be made in the air fryer (no fry mess!) or in the oven, as well as fried.

Green Onion Garlic Parmesan Wings

What ingredients do you need for these green onion garlic parmesan chicken wings?

Wings: We are using a party mix of both flats and drums for this recipe.

Spices of choice: We are using garlic powder (onion powder works, too), kosher salt, black pepper and paprika. Super easy and simple, but you can adjust with any of your favorite spices as well.

Grated parmesan cheese: The parmesan is getting tossed into the sauce at the end, in addition to tossing more over the wings.

Fresh minced garlic: You can omit with garlic powder, but I find the minced fresh garlic is the. way to go here for the perfect garlic flavor.

Butter: Melted butter is the base of our sauce that when tossed with the wings is super addicting.

Baking powder and flour: I personally find this combo of both baking powder and flour is the perfect mix to create that crispy exterior.

Fresh parsley and green onions: tossed in the buttery, garlicky sauce.

Serve with your favorite dip or ranch dressing!

Instructions to make this recipe

Prep your chicken

Pat your chicken dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, add your chicken wings and season to toss your chicken with flour, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.

Fry your wings

Place your wings in the air fryer basket at 400 degrees for about 20-25 minutes (depending on your air fryer, go longer if needed!) flipping halfway through until you get an extra crispy skin. I like mine a little more on the crispy side, so I’ll check in on them, give them a toss, and let them crisp up to my liking.

Recipe Tip

Alternatively, you can fry these in neutral oil of your choice if you don’t have an air fryer, as well as on a wire rack on a rimmed baking sheet in the oven.

Make your garlic parmesan wing sauce

While your chicken is in the fryer, make your garlic parmesan sauce. In a small saucepan, melt butter on low heat (you don’t want browned butter). Add in your garlic, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Toss to combine and let the flavors and aroma come out.

Toss in your sliced scallions and chopped parsley and mix well. Turn off the heat and finish with shredded parmesan, and a dash of vinegar (that’s optional, though). Mix to combine.

Toss and serve
Transfer your crispy wings to a bowl, pour over your garlic parmesan sauce, and toss to combine until fully coated. Shred more parmesan over the wings, serve with your choice of dipping sauce.
