Cheesy Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

Cheesy Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

My new side of choice: this cheesy prosciutto wrapped asparagus recipe with parmesan. It’s easy and looks impressive. Seriously all you have to do is take a bundle of asparagus, wrap with prosciutto and drizzle with oil, salt and pepper. Place in the oven at 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes, adding shredded cheese to melt halfway for another 15 minutes.

I mean, what’s easier than that? This is a wonderful appetizer or side dish for all things holiday! Truly all the best flavors.

What ingredients do you need to make these prosciutto wrapped asparagus?

Asparagus stalks: We are making cute little bundles (so cute for entertaining a dinner party!) BUT you can also opt to wrap a prosciutto slice PER asparagus, up to you.

Prosciutto slices: We are using slices of prosciutto ham for this recipe! But, feel free to wrap with bacon as a substitute if you prefer.

Parmesan Cheese: Freshly shredded parmesan cheese is melted over the asparagus and ham, SO good!

Salt, black pepper and olive oil

Other fun toppings to add on here: Lemon juice or lemon zest, minced garlic, honey would all go great here!

Instructions to make this prosciutto wrapped asparagus recipe

Prep your ingredients

Start by preheating your oven to 400 degrees F. On a baking sheet with parchment paper, take a bundle of asparagus (about 3-5 sprigs, and snap at the tough woody ends) and wrap with a strip of prosciutto.

Drizzle olive oil over your asparagus and prosciutto

Drizzle olive oil (you can also use cooking spray if you prefer). and salt and pepper over the wrapped asparagus to make your wrapped asparagus spears.

Roast and melt your parmesan cheese, serve!

Place in the oven to roast for 20 to 30 minutes until the asparagus is tender. Add your shredded cheese after that 20-30 minutes and bake for another 15 minutes. Remove and serve on a platter. Finish off with a sprinkling more of parmesan to serve, if preferred.
