This cranberry gin smash is cozy and SO easy to come together! This gin cranberry cocktail will be the new favorite at your next get together. You’ll make a delicious homemade rosemary simple syrup to toss with all the cocktail fixings! Shake and pour in your favorite glasses and you have the most impressive cocktail.
This recipe is great for any holidays coming up, like Thanksgiving or Christmas. You can also batch this ahead of time in a pitcher and make multiple, so all people have to do is pour their own over ice with a little dash of sparkling water. The flavors are sweet, savory and tart!
What ingredients do you need to make this cranberry gin cocktail?
Rosemary simple syrup: We are making a really simple syrup here, just with rosemary, water and sugar. It adds such a nice touch to this cocktail, and it’s so easy to make ahead too.
Cranberries: Muddled fresh cranberries and cranberry juice are being used here, which I love. Garnish with an additional cranberry.
Orange and lemon juice: I love the mix of both orange and lemon juice with the cocktail. You can also use fresh lime juice as well instead of lemon juice, if you prefer.
Gin: We are using gin here! But you can use anything available, such as vodka, tequila, or mezcal.
Seltzer: I like to end the cocktail off with a little bit of bubbles, so after shaking and stirring your cocktail, top off with seltzer.
Instructions to make this cranberry gin fizz cocktail
Make your simple syrup
In a small saucepan, add your sugar, rosemary, and water. Bring to a light boil, then down to a simmer, whisk until all the sugar is dissolved about 4 to 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
Shake your cocktail
In a cocktail shaker or mason jar, take your cranberries and add 2 ounces of your simple syrup. Muddle until the cranberries pop and create a little bit of liquid with the syrup.

Thoughts on using whisky in this?
Specifically, a good Rye?
I think that would work really well!
A really tasty cocktail for when cranberries are in season! Feel free to use frozen cranberries too, I hope you enjoy!
