What Ingredients Do You Need To Make This Easy Iced Mocha Recipe?

Chocolate: You have some room for creativity here. Chop up your favorite chocolate bar. For the fullest flavor and smoothest texture, we suggest using one that is 70-75% cacao. Then, add some granulated sugar to sweeten it so that it isn’t too rich.

Milk: Use your favorite kind of milk to transform the chocolate into a chocolate creamer. If you’re vegan, coconut, oat milk, or almond milk are popular choices. You can also use whole milk, too.

Coffee: This is the other half of the mocha. Brew your favorite coffee and then let it cool before adding it to your cup with ice. You can make your own coffee at home, such as drip coffee, but you can also make or buy cold brew as well to use for this!

Iced Mocha Latte Instructions

Make the chocolate sauce

Place the chopped chocolate bar in a microwave-safe bowl and add a tablespoon of your milk and the sugar. Melt the chocolate and milk in the microwave in 15-second increments. Stir it really well in between each one. This will give it a smooth consistency as it melts.

Prepare the cooled coffee

Brew your coffee like you normally do. Then, let your cup of coffee cool to room temperature. If you are using cold brew, you can skip this step.

Mix them together

Add the ice, coffee, and ½ cup of milk to a glass. Add the melted chocolate. Mix it well with a spoon or straw, or you can transfer to a closed shaker or mason jar to shake together. Top with your favorite toppings.

Tips, Tricks and Substitutions

What are the best toppings for iced mochas?

Have fun with the toppings. Add a dollop of whipped cream and then drizzle chocolate syrup on top. Or add some chocolate shavings like we did. You can even add a bit of caramel syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

How do you blend it together?

There’s no wrong way to blend this together. As long as the chocolate, milk, and coffee is all incorporated completely, it will taste amazing. You could use a blender to mix it. Or, use a cup with a lid – like a mason jar. Give it a nice shake and then it’s ready to drink.

Is a mocha the same thing as an iced latte?

No, this isn’t technically an iced latte. An iced latte is made with espresso. But if you have an espresso machine at home, use it to make an iced mocha latte.
