I am absolutely obsessed with this pear and prosciutto crostini with gorgonzola! It has so many flavors going on and is a great balance with sweet, tangy and salty. Literally, so easy to make and so special. It includes crusty garlicky sourdough bread, lathered on a creamy gorgonzola spread and topped with pears wrapped with prosciutto.

Ingredients Needed

  • sourdough baguette
  • olive oil
  • garlic
  • pear
  • prosciutto
  • gorgonzola
  • greek yogurt
  • olive oil
  • lemon juice
  • lemon zest
  • salt and pepper

You’ll Begin with your Spread!

What you need: gorgonzola, greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest and salt and pepper.

Blend or mix your gorgonzola, yogurt ,olive oil, lemon juice, zest, water if needed to thin out, and salt and pepper until the gorgonzola is mixed throughout and it creates a creamy spread. Set aside.

Next, let’s get things started with the Crostini

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Slice baguette on a bias and season with salt, pepper and olive oil. Bake for 20-25 minutes until toasted. When they’re out of the oven, while hot, rub garlic on the toast.

While that’s in the oven, thinly slice your pears and wrap each slice in 1-2 slices of prosciutto.

It’s time to assemble! Yes, PLEASE.

Assemble your crostini! On your garlic toast, spread your gorgonzola spread, top with your wrapped pears with prosciutto. Garnish and season with salt, pepper and lemon zest.

Modifications & Notes:

  • You can most definitely swap with any cheese you like. I think blue cheese or even goat cheese would be great here!
  • Mix and match your garnishes: you can add basil, arugula, or keep it simple with just lemon zest and some flakey salt. No wrong choices here!
  • Use your favorite baguette or bread. I LOVE anything sourdough, so naturally, I love using sourdough for my crostini’s. You can definitely use anything on hand.
