Smoked Rainbow Trout: Canned smoked rainbow trout is the main ingredient. You can also use fresh smoked trout and flake it the same way as canned. 

Creamy base: Sour cream or Greek yogurt, mayo, and Dijon mustard are added as the base of this dip.

How to Make Smoked Trout Dip

Step 1: Drain the canned smoked trout, transfer to a medium mixing bowl, and finely mash it with a fork.

Step 2: Add your sour cream or Greek yogurt, shallot, fresh dill, scallions, jalapeños, mayo, dijon, salt, and pepper.

  • 1 large shallot, minced
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh dill, plus more for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped scallions
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped pickled jalapeños
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Serve with crackers, vegetables such as carrots, radish, or endive
