Where is whipped brie from?

This whipped brie trend is for GOOD reason. This recipe is inspired by Thomas Keller’s Whipped Brie from his restaurant the French Laundry.

If you’re looking for a warm brie dip, where you bake brie in the oven, try our Baked Camembert. It’s similar to a baked brie.

Ingredients You Need for Whipped Brie Cheese

Brie cheese: For this recipe, you can honestly use any brie you can get your hands on. Some example can be a triple-cream brie cheese or double cream brie. But really any brie will work for this. Cut cubes with the brie to allow it to whip easier.

Honey: We are using a drizzle of honey (habanero hot honey is great here!), but you can also use honeycomb, hot honey, or any type of honey you have on hand.

Pepper: I love to finish off this whipped brie with a generous amount of freshly cracked black pepper, just for some crunchy and smoky, spicy texture and flavor.

Other variations and toppings for this whipped cheese: Jam, fresh herbs like fresh thyme leaves, rosemary, nuts like pine nuts, almonds, pecans or edible flowers.

Serve with: Slices of crostini, grapes, apples, strawberries, any of your favorite veggies like cucumber, carrots, cauliflower would also be amazing!

How to Make This Brie Dip Recipe

Prepare the cheese: Start by removing the rinds with a sharp knife from the brie cheese. Make sure your brie cheese is cold, so it’s easier to cut this way.

Whip the brie cheese: Cube the brie cheese. In a food processor, electric mixer or stand mixer, add in the cheese and whip the brie cheese until a smooth and creamy consistency. The mixture should be light and fluffy, with no lumps.

Serve: Transfer the whipped brie to a serving bowl or plate. Top off with your choice of toppings (we are using habanero hot honey and edible flowers with cracked black pepper) and serve with crostini, crackers or fresh vegetables.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I top this whipped brie cheese with?

You can top with any of your favorite jams, or condiments. You can do flavored honey, cranberries, or Orange Cranberry Sauce, even strawberry or fig jam will work well drizzled on this brie. Even topping with your favorite nuts, like walnuts or pistachios will work.

What if I don’t have a food processor?

If you don’t have a food processor, you can whip your brie in the bowl of stand mixer with the paddle attachment. If you don’t have either, you can wait until it comes to room temperature, and try to whip it by hand.

How do I store whipped brie?

Transfer to an airtight container in the fridge, for up to 4 to 5 days. When ready to serve, allow it to come to room temperature so it’s more spreadable.

Do you take the rind off brie before whipping it?

Yes! Definitely remove the rind of the brie before you whip it.

Tested this recipe out last night in preparation for Thanksgiving. I love it! I personally love the texture of the whipped brie and it was delicious with honey. I’m going to add some jam for Thanksgiving, which I’m sure will be even better. It did take a while before it reached that “whipped” texture so trust the process! This will be a staple for future parties.

    1. Thank you so much for your review, Rachel! Love the jam add. I’m so happy you enjoyed it, and happy Thanksgiving!
