Prosciutto & Mozzarella Sandwiches with Calabrian Chili Spread
The most perfect prosciutto di parma & mozzarella sandwiches – paired with a Calabrian chili spread. Sliced ciabatta bread is topped with a tangy & spicy spread, sliced & salted tomatoes, mozzarella, prosciutto di parma and a simple lemon arugula salad. Covered tightly & sliced.
The sauce is absolutely delicious, and it comes together in less than 4 ingredients, YUM! I inhaled this & already dreaming of makin’ it again.
For Your Calabrian Chili Spread
- Mayo
- Calabrian chili paste
- Vinegar
- Salt and pepper
For Your Sandwich
- Heirloom tomatoes
- Mozzarella
- Prosciutto Di Parma
- Arugula
- Lemon and olive oil
- Basil
- Salt and pepper
- Ciabatta
Steps To Make This Recipe
Step 1
To start, make your Calabrian chili spread. In a bowl, mix mayo, Calabrian chili paste, vinegar and salt and pepper. Set aside.
Step 2
Get your sandwich ingredients ready. Slice your ciabatta, lengthwise. In a bowl, toss your arugula with salt, pepper, lemon juice and olive oil.
Step 3
Slice your mozzarella into disks or thin rounds (you can use any mozzarella you have access too).
Step 4
Next, salt and drain your tomatoes (this is totally optional though) It brings out the sweetness and the tomatoes natural flavors this way. Even just 5-10 minutes is great.
Step 5
Now time to assemble! Take your spread and lather it on the bottom of the of the bread. Then layer your tomatoes, prosciutto di parma, mozzarella, and top with your arugula, and some basil (optional). Cover with the top of the ciabatta, and slice down into 3-4 sandwiches. Cover, or serve immediately!

- 2 tablespoons Calabrian chili paste
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
For Your Sandwich
- 2 heirloom tomatoese thinly sliced
- 8 oz mozzarella I'm using bocconcini, sliced
- 4 oz Prosciutto Di Parma
- 2 cups arugula
- squeeze of lemon and olive oil drizzle
- bundle of basil optional
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 large ciabatta sliced
