Crispy Chicken Sambal Party Wings
These crispy chicken Sambal party wings are so good! The best party wings recipe. I think wings are definitely one of my favorite things to make and eat. What’s even better is it’s SO easy to make them at home.
But even better, I love making crispy chicken wings to bake in the oven on a baking rack instead of deep frying = less mess but just as delicious and crispy – trust me. Air fryer works great, too!
These are Asian inspired using Sambal, sesame oil and soy sauce, sweet, spicy and SO addicting. This recipe is perfect for just dinner served with rice, game day, or really anything you have going on!

Crispy Chicken Sambal Party Wings
Ingredients
- 1 pound party wings
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/3rd cup baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons sambal oelek
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon mirin
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1/4th cup thinly sliced green onions
- salt to taste if preferred
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a pan with parchment and place on a baking rack.
- In a bowl, add your party wings and toss with salt, pepper, paprika, baking powder and garlic powder until fully coated. Line the wings one by one on the baking rack. Place in the oven for 45-60 minutes, flipping halfway until cooked inside and crispy on the outside. You can also do this in an air fryer, or deep fry with neutral oil as well.
- While that's baking, in a bowl mix your sambal, soy sauce, sesame oil, mirin, chili flakes, rice wine vinegar and sesame seeds. Slice off some green onions and add in there as well. Stir and set aside until chicken is ready.
- Once your chicken is ready, toss the crispy oven baked chicken with the sauce until fully coated. Serve by topping with more sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish.
Way too salty. I would remove the salt next time because the soy sauce provides enough.
